stargazing

Wow, another week has flown by, seemingly without me realising what was going on in the process. Either my life now consists purely of work, or my well documented forgetfulness is taking new extremes of affliction. What have I been up to recently? Here’s what I can remember:

Last Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day, with an uncharacteristic amount of sunshine, especially considering the fact that this summers record for sun-shone-on-consecutive-days hasn’t broken ‘2′. At least, not that I remember. Mike, Matt and myself took advantage of the weather’s break with habit by visiting Alton Towers, going on the rides and generally having a laugh. Kath was supposed to be coming too, but she had forgotten about it and booked a hair cut for the same day. Oh well, lads day out it was then! smiley icon: wink
At one point we decided to go through the gardens, and it was then that we all realised we were getting old. The gardens, when you’re a kid, are the bit you really want to drag your parents away from so you can stop being incredibly bored and start scaring yourself stupid on roller coasters. The gardens that day were the place we all stayed a while and openly said how nice it was, and wouldn’t it be great to spend a day in them. How times change. :lol

Also this week Mike and myself went to Weaver Hill for a spot of star gazing and chilling out. It was great, the sky was crystal clear both nights. The first night we had some Hed Kandi and Chilled Euphoria playing in the car and were happily (but uncomfortably) seated. We were resting heads on the door frames to look upward, which required sitting sideways on the chairs and hurt your neck after a while. We managed to see a couple of satellites go over, and possibly the ISS. I saw a shooting star, and we both almost fell asleep between random bits of chattering.
The next night we went up again, but it was really windy. It was only then that we realised that my car has a sunroof, and you can open it up, keep the wind out, see the stars and be a damned sight more comfortable than lolling your head out of the windows. Doh!

Last night Ben returned from Bangor for a visit, so a big group of us went to the pub. It was really good seeing quite a few people I haven’t seen in quite a while. Nice to see everyone’s doing well for themselves too smiley icon: smile
