Get a Groove On
I thought I’d update the blog while I have some lunch and attempt to gulp clean air from the window. Rich has been mounting prints, and whatever spray he used has some potent chemicals in it. The fumes have made their way over here, extractor fan or not. *blinks a lot*
Yesterday was a pub outing day, but looked to be a write off when both Mike and Matt pulled out. Mike and Kate are having some serious words, which is a bit concerning but hopefully all will be well. Matt made it down to Tean for a meal cooked by my sister, but was really not looking good, ate hardly any food and decided he’d better go home shortly after. Poor guy looked about ready to collapse. This is his last week at Leek College before starting his new place of work so hopefully he’s feeling better today, and up for celebratory drinks at the weekend.
Fortunately (for me anyway) the night wasn’t a write off and Kath, Chris and myself made it to the pub I got to see the BoostBrick in the flesh, and initially mistook the turbo flutter for wheel spin when Chris pulled up. What can I say, I’m a car illiterate, and I was inside the house when I heard it. The BoostBrick by the way is the affectionate name for his new acquired Volvo Estate. Fact: It has excellent seat heaters. Just by writing that my bum feels like it’s getting warmer.
Earlier in the day Chris had let me know that Mr Scruff was doing a set for the Solid Steel tour on Sat 16th at Keel uni. Of course, both Chris and myself are looking forward to it, though I’ve yet to purchase a ticket (I’ve not been on the Keel SU site yet). Kath has decided she wants to come, and Joey is up for it too, though I don’t think Kath knows what Mr Scruff is like. If she goes expecting dance she’s in for a shock; so I’ll be playing Keep It Unreal somewhere she can hear.
In anticipation of the event I’ve gone and ordered myself three new CDs off Amazon. Well, you can never have too much NinjaTune. I’m hoping to get Hexstatic: Listen & Learn, Amon Tobin: Permutation and Keep It Solid Steel on Saturday *grooves*

Should be kool but must say i have only heard a couple of tracks from Mr Wilcox himself, mind you i am quite open minded and intend to enjoy every minute of it. Finsihed work yesterday officially. Passed my MCP exam today and looking forward to a celebratory weekend of it….Before i start my new job on Monday.
MCP = ‘Microsoft Cerified Professional’

*certified* oops!
Excellent! Congrats on that matey
Not sure what you’re gonna make of Mr Scruff. His own stuff is very much the Jazz side of breakbeat, with some nice oddball stuff and a tiny smidgen of funk/dancehall in there.
I very nearly ordered ‘DJ Vadim: USSR’ but noticed it was a 4-6 week delivery as I got to the payment process. Might see if I can spot it up Hanley instead.
Ticket obtained
Personally i hate mike but i think you way out of order to talk about a friends relationship on a website. Maybe you need to get a relationship of you own to talk about. Or you need to admit you true feelings for mike.
Mr Matt, Kate’s Ex perchance? *evil grin*
Time to try out the ‘blacklist’ filter I coded.
Never heard any of Mr Scruff before but looking forward to it, will be a new experience. :o)
I hope you’ll be pleasently surprised
