Dear Google Reader team...

Spot the problem with the following screenshot sequence:

screenshot of choosing to subscribe to an RSS feed with Google Reader screenshot of redundant Google screen

The problem with the sequence is that there is a sequence at all. I chose in the first step to subscribe to Google Reader, you can see it in that big yellow box. I have not and never will use Google’s homepage. I do not want this choice, and yet for every RSS feed I subscribe to you insist on offering it to me. As I currently have 114 feeds, that means you’ve cause me to click exactly 114 times more than I needed to, inducing RSI in my poor fingers, and ever increasing irritation. Please, sort it out. At least give us the option of never having to see that second screen again. “[] always use this option?” would be a nice thing.

Thanks Google.
