Merry DRM-mas
…since the only way to determine whether DVDs are playable would be buying and opening them, and if it turns out they aren’t (playable), would I have ended up buying a completely useless $90 Christmas present? Yes, they (the store refusing returns of opened DVDs on ‘copyright’ grounds) agreed, that was about the size of it.
I have to agree with Dave Shea, the state of play with DRM is stupid. All they’ve done is do themselves out of a $90 sale. When will companies learn that DRM is harming no one other than honest people and themselves?
