Terrorism, government, and the media
A Dubai doctor said, simply: ‘I am sick of living under the shadow of media-driven fear of terrorism.’
- A viewpoint I whole-heartedly agree with. The latest ‘terror altert’ smells like a steaming great media exploitation.
Personally I’m very sceptical of all the hoo-ha and shoddy sensationalist reporting that goes on these days. And frankly, i’d rather not give up my civil liberties because of one failed terrorist attempt. I don’t recall the UK going into restrictions hyperbole when the IRA was routinly blowing people up, so why are we now?
